Not OP, but overhead power lines are ugly, especially in older neighborhoods where the wires tend to be low. Buried looks way nicer.
This is the main reason we want buried lines as well.

The Great Falls area near route 7 (between Towlston Rd. and Walker Rd, south of Leigh Mill) has underground power lines.

We live in Fairfax County Alexandria and our lines are underground. We never lose power. Fort Hunt area.

If you are really worried about losing power, get a generator or solar panels with a power wall. Or both if you really want super protection.

We have underground power lines in our part of Great Falls, so it depends. We're near McLean, on the Tyson's grid, which is quite robust.
