Exactly. Never understand why they demolish something perfectly functional without knowing what is coming next and that timeline. They could have kept it open for so many families who relied on the space and stores for entertainment, food, socialization, business etc. The mall has been closed for a decade! A whole generation could have been riding that little train.

Great mall. In my 20s - I bought almost all my dresses as a guest for weddings at that Lord & Taylor.

So many memories. As a teenager, getting dressed up to hang out out at White Flint and see and be seen. Shopping at The Limited, Georgetown Leather Design, Cedar Post, Express, Benetton, Bloomies. The original food court (dim lighting and a lot of brown), the movies, the mini Georgetown and Italian street. As an adult, shopping for my daughter at Gymboree and Borders. Taking her on the train.

I get annoyed every time I pass White Flint. In the 80’s and 90’s, it was such a vibe and now it’s an overgrown mess.

Everything already mentioned and the old Imagination Stage theater for kids in an old storefront, before they built their current facility in downtown Bethesda. We used to take the kids to a show on a Saturday and then to the food court for a treat

My orthodontist was in the mall and I used to schedule my appts right at lunch time and my grandmother would take me and then we’d have a nice lunch in the food court (I always got lo Mein and wonton soup!). I miss the mall and the time with my grandmother!

I used to work for an org that would bring like 150 kids to the D&B. Fun times.

I was a young mom who used to take my kids to see Santa there every year. I always preferred White Flint over Montgomery Mall because it wasn’t that busy. Probably why it closed, but I loved going there too. Has it really been gone for more than ten years? I wasn’t expecting that.

I miss Borders most. White Flint was close to my job and it was a nice break to just be able to go over there and have a California chicken salad at J. Chow’s (RIP) in the food court for lunch or look at clothes at Lord and Taylor.

I used to take my DD to the camp fair there.
