Love these. These would also appear to elongate the leg.

I usually search for a low block heel. Kitten heels feel wobbly and higher block heels hurt my back. Flats work with some outfits, but I find that the low heel is preferable overall for me. Example here, but there are many options out there. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/june-ankle-strap-sandal-women-wide-width-available/7648806?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FShoes%2FSandals%2FBlock%20Heel&color=250

If you don't want heals, don't get them. I would also wear mary jane flats with a delicate strap or a nice flat with a cute decoration. No one is going to scrutinize your shoes that much anyway. Better to be comfortable and able to participate without pain.

I got these for a wedding and they are great

I love these, but I think they are way too high for a 50 year old with bad feet. There will be lots of pressure on the front part of her foot and toes.

Those are tough on the eyes.

I was in a similar situation, OP, and ended up with a pair of David Tate Spirit Black Glitz that I even danced in. (Gala, long gown.) I Googled that, but didn't find them, but the above choices might work. I think Naturalizers are padded.

I wear the AGL Monika flat: I have them in black, navy, gray/platinum and fuchsia (the last two from previous seasons).

I have a couple pairs of pointy Birdies flats for evening shoes. One pair is velvet with crystals (for winter), and one pair is beaded (for the rest of the year).

They are not fantastic from an arch support perspective, but I can wear them for a few hours for a cocktail party or wedding or something.

Wear anything by those.

I would suggest flats as more cocktail appropriate than those.

God the people on this forum are boring.

She’s 50, not 90. The platform is much more subtle than the pictures make it seem. They’re more comfortable than most of my flats and grandmas are reviewing them. It’s a great shoe for a short person like me.

I think all the flats being posted are boring too, but those pictures make those shoes look like something a teen would wear to homecoming. I just don’t like them/
