Have you never been a teen or do you not have teens?
They biologically can't fall asleep really early. They are also developing/growing a lot and need as much sleep as a newborn.
I do have a teen and that’s just not true. My teen (almost 15) goes to bed around 10 pm normally. We wouldn’t allow him to stay up past midnight unless it was like New Years or something. A sick kid? He’d be going to bed earlier. Absolutely not going to stay up past midnight. Parenting fail.
He’s going to bed when you say but he’s not falling asleep doofus. Read the vast amounts of research on this matter.
Parenting fail in this case is thinking you can change nature.

Really? Is he up playing video games all nights?
I could see on a rare occasion if sick, but sleeping until 3:30pm on a regular basis, is not normal
Yes he often does play games late. OK 3:30 PM would be extreme. But regularly after 12.
I’m going to be blunt. This is total loser behavior.

Anonymous wrote:I could have easily done that into my college years if I was sick of really really tired. I’m late 30s and I can still easily sleep 10-11 hours on the weekend (no kids). I wish I were one of those people who naturally wake up at 6 am every morning. Never have been.

Anonymous wrote:I personally would have woken my teen at normal waking time to hydrate and eat. I’d be very concerned if they slept that late.
