Your comments in your original post (first time in life haven't obsessed about weight) and this one (price to pay to not obsess about my weight) indicates a bigger medical issue that you should address. You are not fat and apparently not unhealthy. Your obsession with your weight is a psychological problem. You should try a psychologist. Of course, that's more expensive and harder work.

You should see a psychologist. Semagultide is a GLP-1 agonist (GLP-1 is natural hormone in your body), not some scary controlled substance with frightening side effects. A minority of people feel nauseous at high doses, but OP specifically said she prefers a low dose. People who don't eat enough protein or lift weights might have more muscle loss than they'd like and, thus, a lower BMR after they go off the medication, but that's on them for failing to eat enough protein or lift weights. Taking a low dose to stay at 124 lbs if you're ~ 5'6 is exactly within the range of a healthy BMI and a healthy amount of body fat for a 40-year-old woman. American women have normalized too much body fat. 124 lbs is a healthy, fit adult weight for most women. I think it's a little weird that OP is getting semaglutide through her aesthetician, but as long as the compound pharmacy is legit, it's probably okay.

Monkeying with your body’s biochemistry in this way to accomplish something that can be handled with some self discipline is dumb and shortsighted. Shortcuts have consequences, that’s just the reality.

There are major shortages right now. People who actually need to lose weight can't get it. Using it to lose weight you don't need to lose is kind of stupid. Sorry.

I have "good" genetics when it comes to weight, but perimenopause is doing a number on me. While most people would consider me to be fit or even thin, I know I could look feel so much better if I lost 15lbs. I would never inject myself with anything, though, so I watch what I eat and I exercise to limit how much weight I gain.

You would if you gained an additional 15 lbs.

Yes, but it won't be needed because the 15 pounds has sobered me up so to speak. 15 will not turn into 30, I can hold or make an effort to lose, but I will not count on shots to lose weight.

Sure, but that's you. Some people are 30lbs over preferred weight with a lot of effort. Ozempic allows these people to be thin without much effort. It's a miracle.

Yeah... WTH?

Why? The medication comes from a compounding pharmacy.

But how can a facial tech prescribe it?

There’s so much misinformation about this.

Anonymous wrote:I’m really torn about what to do. Last winter I was getting a facial done and the technician offered me the option of doing a promotion for 2 months on the weight loss compound. She started a very small dose and in 2-3 months I lost about 16 lbs. I have been carrying this weight for years and could not lose it. Any happy weight is 140 and I got down to 124 lbs, which is significant in my frame. I went off because even the cost seemed significant for what it was, something I felt I could do naturally. It’s a full year later and I gained back 8 of the one. I work out everyday, but low impact and it’s something I’m interested in so I don’t want to push myself just for weight loss. I really enjoyed being at the low weight. I felt more confident and lower inflammation but I struggle with feeling guilty taking the compound but it’s the best I’ve felt post kids. Would you just go back on it if you finally for the first time in a decade didn’t think of your weight? I was on a low dose and had zero side effects. I think it was so low it was actually lower than the starting dose but it was enough to work.

Absolutely.

I think the benefits for me go way beyond weight loss. I do wish I naturally felt how I feel on Ozempic without Ozempic, but I don't, so I will keep taking it to look and feel my best.

That’s how I feel too! I have an autoimmune disease so it’s just hard to deal with the inflammation. I had tried so much and nothing worked but this low dose.
