How is asking the driver to refrain from religious propaganda while "on duty" in a public school system stripping them of tolerance or respect? They are welcome to listen to their religious propaganda in their own home, vehicle, or likely even when there are no children on the vehicle. While they are representing a public, secular school? Not appropriate.

Religious folk do love to play the victim, even when they are clearly in the wrong though, so no surprise to see some replies from pps.

Send a complaint to the school board with the timing of the bus/school, and hopefully they will deal with it.

It is not about converting anyone. It’s about the fact that non-Christian students on the bus should not be marginalized. Sure I could tell my own kid to ignore, but that doesn’t solve the problem for the other kids who deserve a safe space.

Be glad you have a bus and driver. Or you apply to drive.

What if the bus driver, while stopped, was engaged in a conversation by a student about Jesus. Would you call the School District then too? Aren’t we all being a bit sensitive? Guy is probably doing his job while kids are screaming all around him. and not trying to harvest souls. It probably makes him a safer driver to boot but do your thing.

It’s not okay and I would report it to the principal. There kids of other faiths on the bus. Everyone needs to respect everyone else.

With the bus driver shortage I would encourage your kid to wear air pods to listen to his own music. We need to keep our drivers. It is not as though the driver is broadcasting the Bible!

In Virginia, as in most states, public school buses are considered an extension of the public school system, which means that the same laws governing the separation of church and state apply.
