I’d like to think she has had a nice college experience. I am happy with her education and the way she has applied herself.
I consider myself an advocate of Loyola Maryland after my family’s experience and I would encourage you to take a hard look.

Went to Loyola MD and transferred to UMD after two years. It’s a good school if you’re going into business and intend to stay in the mid-Atlantic but if you’re doing anything else... you’re overpaying to go to a mid Atlantic country club.

Have only visited St. Joes but seemed social, maybe a little bro-y, there is a cute strip of restaurants right around it, and a bus line on campus that goes to downtown.

Good department, but very small if that's what your kid is looking for. Business is the most popular major at Loyola. If you are looking for opportunities to DC, gov internships, etc, Loyola has some, but not as much in comparison to UMD and DC/VA schools.

Cliquey. People tend to stick to their own bubble. There is active downtown scene on the weekends, but on-campus clubs are small and sometimes lack real leadership or collective participation. My DD found it really unfulfilling. Although, some clubs are more active than others. I will say in general the social aspect does not compare to many bigger schools active engaging environments.

Can vouch for you that because of the size of the school, social opportunities can be limited in terms of clubs due to small involvement - although it can vary depending on the activity. Social nature is known to be cliquey at Loyola.

I’m the alum who posted above with a current sophomore. Great school and campus, great merit aid, lots of nice kids there. Congrats on the acceptance. I think the accepted students day was in late February/early March. Definitely worth a visit.

Yes, hunted merit at Loyola Maryland, Loyola Chicago, and St. Joe’s. We’re from MD, and I was surprised that his most generous merit offer is from Loyola Maryland. They gave enough that it is in serious contention.
