My DD felt same about both. Going to UCLA. If you don’t want DD so far, consider Duke, Northwestern, Michigan. Fits her wants much better.

My DC is a freshman at Emory. After reading all the "lack of school spirit and social scene" on this forum, I was concerned. Couldn't be anything further than the truth. There is a very active social scene and school spirit at the school if you want it.

There is no D3 school that will offer what your daughter wants (WashU, Emory, Chicago, CMU, NYU and Case are all in the same conference…the large D3 school). That’s just the reality.

Her list in this order is:

Vandy
Duke
Northwestern
Wake
BC
WashU
Emory


That’s a good list…though purely based on sports enthusiasm and social scene o would move Northwestern below BC.


Yes, northwestern is not very social these days.
