I’m usually not on favor of withholding scores, but slacs are very favorable to test optional candidates. I would have her apply test optional and submit her AP scores. None of the schools on your list are out of reach.

Nothing is off the table in TO world. Her list looks reasonable to me. Dickinson and Macalester are good suggestions to consider adding. If you're a VA resident, why not also W&M? If she wants an additional safety, she could check out the James Madison College at Michigan State. MSU obviously is huge, but JMC is a residential college of ~1200 students that's quite well regarded for IR and government.

You are an amateur if you think that Hamilton College is out-of-reach for a student with an unweighted 4.0 GPA and all 5s on her AP exams.

These schools should all be safeties for this kid, especially if she applies TO. The SAT score is an outlier here. My goodness. I would have her apply TO to a range of good LACs.

Wesleyan Or Bowdoin. They believe in test optional. ED
