DG seemed to rise above typical rock star status- he managed to also be good guy dad, husband, friend and son.
Yeah I’m more disappointed than I would be if it were some other big name rocker.

This is pretty bad imo. He cheated and he didn't use protection. The fact that he is disclosing a child raises the question of whether this was a one time thing or if he has been cheating for a while and and he got careless. And no indication that this was part of an arrangement with his wife since he's working to "regain trust."

That he has three daughters who are of an age where they will absolutely see and hear press about this is gross too. What a terrible way to learn that your father has been unfaithful to your mom. Also because his job requires him to travel a ton and puts him in a million situations where the temptation to cheat will be presented is going to make it so hard for them to trust him again.

Yes it's good he's acknowledging the child and intends to be a present father and provide financial support. But also: he has no real choice. If he's the dad and the mom could sue for paternity it would come out if he was trying to get out of it.

This is not about him "being a good guy." This is him trying to get out ahead of some bad PR of the baby's mom goes public with the affair (or ONS or whatever it was) and paternity claim.

He married in 2003 when he was already very rich and very famous. There is probably a prenup keeping her in the marriage

"Keeping her in the marriage?" She isn't his chattel. And pretty sure when he took the vows it said 'forsake all others" so he null and voided the marriage. You can't force someone to stay with you. Obviously he doesn't want to be married to his wife. Otherwise he would have kept his pants on.

I’m shocked he didn’t have a vasectomy or use a condom or both! He is a rock star, he is not clueless. Cheating is bad enough but now there is a reminder of the cheating in his wife’s face for the next 18 years. How could he be so stupid?

I do not think you can ever tell what is going on in someone else marriage. Specially after 20 years.
