Moving into a home zoned for Northwood with a current high schooler would be foolish, IMO, even if the new building will eventually be wonderful and the school community is good. It's going to be a logistical mess for a long time.
Current Northwood parent here. The commute is annoying and the activities but didn’t get back to our hub at Forest Knolls until 5:30 today. BUT we really like the school administration, and the new building they’re in (albeit still under construction and missing an auditorium and athletic fields right now) is gorgeous. So I think it depends. If your kid didn’t play a sport, for example, the lack of fields may not matter. But the science labs and dance studios are amazing.
