They said MCPS, which gives a full +1.0 bump for honors classes - and basically every class has an honors designation.

A 4.5 is much higher in FCPS.

I think there’s a chance ED at Lehigh maybe Villanova ED if TO. The SAT is drag to the profile but TO is still here so might as well use it.

Our child is a current Pitt psych major, a senior. Got a fantastic summer internship and already has a FT job offer for after graduation, and loves the city if Pittsburgh.

This child thought Penn State was before Pitt on paper, before visiting. But Penn State is rural living, Pitt is City living, and after visiting both, reordered their priorities.

All the schools you me turned are similar in ranking (assuming you meant Penn State and not U Penn), and, all ha e a different vibe (to use the kids language). Visit, and let the kid decide where they want to spend 4 years of their life

A 4.5 GPA with no corresponding test scores, no AP scores, no ECs to speak of, etc. Absolutely not likely to get into Lehigh or Villanova. Other two depends on when they apply and other factors but more likely to get an acceptance. I’d add Drexel and St Joes to the list if they really want to be in PA.

Some think you meant Penn because of the title you wrote. The Ivy League school in Philadelphia. Penn State is never called Penn. That accounts for some of the early comments.

Post-COVID Psychology is an impacted major at most colleges making it a more difficult admit. I’d look at how easy is to get into Psych at these schools even if it means you apply undecided. Lehigh and Villanova will likely need to be ED or some spectacular EC you haven’t mentioned. GPA is not matching test scores so a red flag on school rigor.

Usual 4.5 weighted GPA from a W school. Going test optional some schools as high score 1,325 SAT

Well one is ivy league and the others aren't.
