Maybe Northern Spain along the coast from San Sebastián with some inland cities.

Turkey can be iffy because it’s the cheapest vacation for Europeans.

I was looking at lake comp and reviews are so mixed. Lots of people saying that it’s just insanely crowded now since it is so famous with the Star Wars movie and Clooney, and the lines for the ferries or anything are terrible. Some people recommended Lake Garda instead. I was looking at the beach towns along the Ligurian sea instead. Would love feedback on those from anyone who has been.

This is a great question and thread. I think lots of the Italian islands (Sicily, Sardinia, Elba) may have what you’re looking for.

Ireland or Scotland wont have the warm beaches but would have the same mix of fun oitdoorsy stuff, being able to just drive around place to place, and history. Food won’t be as tasty but will be relatively kid friendly. Northern island is sometimes overlooked but is very cool.

For beaches, also maybe Spain or France along the bay of biscay.

I feel like Puerto Rico could also be a destination closer to home. Or Oaxaca, although I’m starting to get nervous about the cartels even in nice places like Oaxaca City and the beaches near there.
