DC is the worst city for reality TV casting. Very few people interested in being on a show like this for a host of reasons and the people they manage to dig up are outliers that don't bring anything more "typical DC" to the table that would give a show a unique flavor vs other cities.
True. They need to do their casting call here.

That was a great season. At least two of the couples are still married with babies.
Just one - Jessica and Austin. Love them and they have 2 kids now.

On another forum, All sorts of people said they got hit up on LinkedIn about a year ago for casting. But they were reaching out to people in government, consulting, military space and who’s gonna take a year off for $1000 a week? Not worth it to DC Types.
Ok ok. Not that I am obsessed but they had plenty of people who applied. And if you know the show you know that it is based IN a city but not all the singles are from that city. They are generally from the vacinity but not all the time, sometimes just from the same state. Also the pods are 10 days, the trip is a few days then they live together. When living together many of them are back to work. No one is taking a year off!
Now if you want to talk about the lawsuits that is a whole different thread.
The commitment you had to agree to was much longer than 10 days.
