Not Makos, but another club.. We have not heard anything yet. I am friends with one of the coaches of this club, and she has said GMU has not provided them with any updates.

Also wondering if GMU is on track to open on 10/13. Does anyone have any updates from their club? No update from makos about the location of practice after 10/13.

This is not the clubs faults. The clubs and families are put in a very difficult situation by GMU.

Yikes, just came to this thread and saw speculation the pool may stay closed until or into November. Anyone heard more about whether they are on track to open 10/13?

And, have any clubs offered partial refunds, discounts or early outs due to pool issues?

They are back at Mason this week so at another pool? Now they have a smaller pool in addition to the competitive one.

GMU has really been tough for the clubs for a couple of years now. Or the state I guess. But everything runs long. All this was supposed to be done last summer. Then didn't get done, now not done over this summer.

I feel sorry for the clubs. I have swimmers for Mako and feel that the owner is working very hard to make things work and get the kids their pool time.

And there are many other clubs that practice there going through this. Pool space is hard to come by.

So what are teams doing given how hard it is to find pool space? Just not swimming?

No. Haven’t heard anything from makos. We got the email with practice days and times for this week, and they changed the meet location for the Sept meet. No other info. I’m sure the club teams are getting terrible, conflicting and changing information from GMU, which does make it hard for the club teams to communicate to families. I bet we get a big update soon.

I think we must swim for the same club because this is what I heard as well. However, my neighbor's DD goes to Mason and is a lifeguard there, and she seems to think the closures will last until November....

Mako meet was moved to Freedom Center, according to our club.
