If so make that part of the activity: walk to Sbux, get drinks, hang and come home. Walk to grocery store, buy ingredients for cakes, come home and make a bunch of them. Etc.

+1 Yes. 13 year olds no longer use construction paper and crayons to do crafts. That is something a kindergartner would do. Loom bracelets and necklaces? Maybe.

My kid has 20 girls over multiple times a year and it is fine. But, we push them to be outdoors. They definitely walk around the neighborhood for at least an hour. My kid usually organizes an activity but they may or may not do it. They have decorated cookies, decorated gingerbread houses, et .

We set up tables and chairs in the garage so they eat out there, kick the soccer ball around, video themselves doing dances in the driveway, etc. Scream and giggle a lot.

I think 4 hours is doable at home. Snacks, drinks, serve an easy meal. Buy nail polish and disposable face masks (the paper ones, not the creams your rub and wait to dry). Have some beads and string available if anyone wants to make necklaces or bracelets. Rent or borrow a karaoke machine.

I am neither of these two people talking to each other. Wow , one person asks for recommendation and one volunteers one, gets criticized and attacked. They should be thanked. I would love paper and crayons to the person who said “shit recommendation” so I can hand you a craft with text reading that first word 😂

It was not me. I can’t speak for them. Ask your child what craft they like to do with their friends and you will know. Friends enjoy the same thing even if it is simple or complicated. It is not age defined. We as adults enjoy crafts too. Just ask your child what they want to do, what they like to eat, and hope you have a good plan.
