Subject: Does your school tell you when your child's teacher is going to be out?
Not really in my experience. My kid had a pregnant teacher in elementary school and she was out a lot because of a difficult pregnancy and then out again when she gave birth. It wasn't clearly communicated for the first few weeks of her absence but could be the school didn't know themselves about her condition and what time off she needed.

Why would you at the HS level especially? Give kids the heads up so they can skip? No thank you.

Usually the teacher sends out an email about it, but it depends.

Nope. Last year the homeroom teacher was out twice for weeks or months at a time and we didn’t get any communication from the principal u til he assigned the para as the long term sub.
Heard through the grapevine this teacher was suspended for hitting kids in the class. She is no longer at our school but moved to a different McPS school
