You inquire into company size and length of time in business when interviewing. And, look for relevant company descriptions online, which may include descriptors like "new company", "founded/established in 20XX", etc.

A startup with an actual physical product to sells. They don’t BS, too much needs to be done to carry people who don’t contributez

Np, based on your dislike of bs, I definitely don't recommend joining the federal government. It's alarmingly overflowing with bs processes, programs, and leaders.

You need a job where success is defined solely by your activities. But really you need to grow up and realize that there are a lot of moving parts
To getting things done and often the behind the scenes work is often more difficult, challenging and important than the end result.

I used to be more like you and the reality is, most of the time that just makes people not like you. It's better for your career to just do the best you can and go along to get along.

I totally get it, OP! I was you and started a small business. I've never been happier.

Small companies can have their own issues, so don't take advice to look there as necessarily a panacea. Yes, there can be less bureaucracy and more agility, but there can also be nowhere to escape your management layer if there is an incompatibility. You may have less variety in work, and more pressure to produce because the company has less in the way of human and financial resources. That lack of resources can also limit your effectiveness. Small companies are usually operate in the image of their founder(s), which may or may not be a good thing. Not all small companies suffer from these concerns, but many do.

OP is it really that you like to be busy during the day and you don't have enough work to do?

While you are employed start a side hustle.
