It is reasonable that they charge for the privilege to park at school.
NOT to ALL students. HS students living within 2.0 miles of school are not provided bussing.

There are actually students who have work-study programs where they go to a job site after school. Driving could be the best or even only option to make that work.
Also, sometimes school ends early for them. So they have a half-day of school and then a half-day of work. There would be no way to do this by public transportation and school buses.
I know students who have done this by public transportation. Obviously this would not work for all students under every circumstance, but then driving also doesn't work for all students under every circumstance.

+1 and who should be paying to maintain the parking lot? Plow, sanding, potholes, lighting?
Taxes don't cover this?

Anonymous wrote:They always have and they are usually limited. The good news is you can just street park in the neighborhood. If the neighbors don't like it they can encourage the school to offer more parking.
