If it was all volunteers doing their best around their full time jobs, that's a different story. They can get the club side schedule out 6+ weeks in advance.
SFL quit doing this thankless job and NCSL took it on more as a charity act just to keep the SFL concept from folding when the SFL organizers folded.
IF the NCSL were not doing it you would have 50 different clubs volunteers trying to coordinate on their own and the landscape would be quite different

I don't think the county even charges for grass field practices, but lets say $10 a player. Then $10 a player for turf for games.
The coach works for free. Say $25 in admin costs per kid (which seems high for rec). Then $150 to ncsl per team for scheduling. Rec pays refs worse than travel, so maybe $100 for four home games for refs.
That leaves the "nonprofit" with a profit of $2700ish *per team.*
Where does the money go!!!???

Gotta subsidize the travel teams. We're $150 for an NCSL rec team that practices twice a week on turf
How come some NCSL rec teams get turf for practices and some don't. How does the county award the turf space?
