Not the bus drivers or transportation department's fault. They don't have enough drivers and way too many students taking the bus. If they could actually pay these drivers a decent amount, there would be a lot more drivers and less wait time. But there's always money to pay of the lawsuits for incompetence.

And this year, they're apparently enforcing a (very old) policy that prohibits MCPS buses from crossing rail tracks, even the inactive purple line ones (eg on Wayne and Long Branch) so until they take that back, it's going to be a mess. We all need to get them to suspend that, so get with your respective PTAs.

No, it was not enforced today. Buses were driving over the train tracks just fine.

Thank goodness. That would have been stupid!

Right on time for an elementary school in Gaithersburg. We have our same driver from last year and he is very punctual. Makes up for the 2 years prior where it was very dicey.

Both buses to school were on time today. I was pleasantly surprised.

Waiting to see if the after school routes will be laggy. That's usually the slower trip, IME.

SSIMS bus from Takoma was basically on time.

For the poster who asked if we're following our kids: mine texts me to let me know they're on the bus. They're too old to be seen waiting with their mom.

2-3 minutes late for 2 kids, on time for 3rd kid. All are at the 1st or 2nd stops so it's likely the bus was later to later stops.
