There's nothing wrong with calling it sex, or making love, or whatever else you want to call it. There is something majorly wrong if you can't simply say to him, "Hey, rather than 'making love,' can you say [your preferred terminology]?" Really, if you can't communicate directly about something this simple, I wonder about the strength of the relationship.

If it's normal for BF, and you like and love him enough to have sex with him -- why does this rankle?



Nonsense. It's soap opera talk. You can love the person and still not use cutesy gag worthy terms of romance.

Eh that’s going a bit far. I love my husband and he is much more to me than only a sex partner but I cringe at the phrase too. We have our own vernacular and I assumed most long term couples did.
