She is 80 ffs. She may avoid doctors because it can mean over treatment, huge bills and getting caught up in the medical jungle that may decide she can’t live by herself and make decisions. Let her live her life out

Do you resent her for being a single mom and not having a husband to deal with this? I don't get how that's relevant at all. It sounds like you have a lot of unresolved anger with her for a lot of reasons. And yes, you should think of her. Do you really want what may be your last days with her to be filled with your resentment and anger?

The thing is for you NOT to get involved or get assumed into discharge plan. Be a broken record: no I cannot stay with her I must care for my children. No I cannot take her into my home. No I cannot coordinate her home care.


I think that some states require kids to take responsibility for parent. It’s been a few years since I was dealing with this, but Google is your friend.

I used to think 75 was old. Now that's 2 years off. 90 that's old, lol. Or 87. It's relative.

I never wanted or had kids. Generalization is tricky.
