No

ummmm,

Yes

Just look at Hopkins recruiting, or any UAA school. It’s ECNL/GA kids only.

Top D3 better than bottom of D1, competitive with lower to mid D1. It’s the reality of pay-to-play. If parents can afford it, then playing soccer at MIT or Carnegie Melon is better than playing soccer at Le Moyne, Prairie View or Nicholls.

No kidding. The $$$$$$ above was that you have to pay for colelge and those schools are among the most expensive.

A D3 high academic is not a play for money -- it is a play to get admitted to a great school that you may be qualified for (or maybe slightly but just slightly below) but that you may not get into. JHU is a great example. They have more qualified applicants than they can take -- your DD may or may not get in even if she has the stats. But with soccer she gets in. Whole top 25 plus other top schools are a lottery --- you take the lottery out of it. But you still pay.

there are D3 schools with large endowments that will give you merit money.

You might get merit money. But no one should count on it for the high academic D3s.
