I got my kid one at Men's Wearhouse. Around $300. Looks great, but we did not want to spend a lot because he will likely not wear it again for a while & by then who knows if his size
will be the same

Got a decent suite for one son who is "regular" size from Macy's and had some hemming done at a local cleaners, other son plays athletics in college and needed some serious tailoring - Mens Wharehouse worked for that.

+1. You are much better off with a $400 Joseph A. Banks suit that is tailored properly vs. something much higher end off the rack that doesn't fit well. It also depends on his build, if he's slim there are likely very good off-the-rack options, like those discussed upthread, that only require modest alteration to look good. If he's got a challenging build for some reason, it's a little harder to find something good at a low price point.

The fit is the most import thing. An expensive higher end suit, not properly tailored will look worse than a cheaper properly tailored suit.
