A guy I was in a league with sent a completely random assortment of words and letters to all of us on the contact list. Turns out he had a stroke.

Why would you pick up an unknown number? I thought you picked up because you had your acquaintances contact saved.

Clearly, they have some issue happening and you need to block them. Or, if you want to keep track of any further contacts, don’t block them, but keep a log.

My MIL called spouse at 4:50 this morning! So much for catching up on sleep. She had no idea what time it was, just wanted to ask a random question. And if course dh has his ringer on high volume.

Wow. 4 am calls are NEVER good news. Someone died or got locked up. In which case they’ll still be dead or in jail in the morning. Anyway, I can’t help you at 4 am so you will have to resolve the issue on your own.

Sometimes people develop schizophrenia or OCD around middle age. Happened to a buddy of mine. He's a functional schizophrenic with a white collar job, but every once in a while I get random and crazy phone calls from him. I just listen.

Drugs. Drunk. Mental illness. Chances are they won’t even remember calling you, and if they do, it’s doubtful they’ll call back. Just block them.

Right, I thought most people would pick up because it’s a KNOWN number.
I once had a former landlord call me about 10 times while I was in a meeting. We haven’t spoken for 5 years, and he simply called because he just wanted to chat…


I know a guy like this. At first, I thought he was bipolar, but now I think he's just abnormally chatty.

I once got a call like that from a work acquaintance who was clearly very high. He was in a different time zone where it was a little less ridiculous of an hour, and thought he was calling someone else he knew with the same first name. It was my birthday and not the best way to start the day.
