I have no idea how people spend less than $100, between what you go for and impulse purchases. I have stopped going as often as I used to, because I have no self control.

I tend to go to our local farms and it’s a rare day that I don’t spend $50 just on fruit, then add the veggies and extras. Farmer's market? Easy $100. Bread, fruit, veggies, snacks, pickles or something like that. It adds up so fast.

I usually shop at farm stands to avoid most of the reseller stuff. Some of them have partnerships with other farms to provide things they don’t grow, but they are upfront about their sourcing.

Farmers Market where I live is utter crap. The point of taking out the middleman is supposed to benefit both buyer and farmer by meeting in the middle. Instead they charge more than any gourmet grocery store, and the quality just doesn't warrant it. I'll go to Liedl and get 3 times the produce for the same price.

I'm the opposite. I go in expecting the vibe but then it's all just resellers and I get a little jaded at the produce.

+1. The worst is when the fruit have stickers on them.

+2

I get jaded also. It’s all so overpriced. I may get some baked good. I may spend $10-15 but then scoot my butt over to Costco where my money goes a lot further.

Maybe $30-40? Like one of the PPs, I cheap out on a lot of things, but can’t help splurging on good bread and some produce.

Where do people encounter resellers?

We spend around $200-$250 per week. We buy all of our vegetables, fruit, meat, and eggs from the farmers market. Well worth it!

Family of 4, easily between 30-80 (no treats either), but sometimes I pre-order bulk fruits or veggies from some sellers.

One heirloom tomato
4 ears corn
1 Pint potatoes
5 apples
5 peaches
4 plums
1 watermelon
2 pints tomatillos
2 eggplants
1 onion
1 cucumber
2 zucchini
Garlic
Pickles
Feta
Cheddar
Loaf of bread

My family would go through all of this in 2 days max.

PP here, this is not all of the produce or groceries we buy for the week, just farmers market.
