We live in Manhattan.
Tourists are everywhere, but one really complains in an active way about them.
The only very minor gripes are that the tourists have no sense of urgency going in or out of the subway (if it’s 7:30 AM and you aren’t running down the escalator stairs to the platform then please stand to the right!) or moseying 4 abreast on the sidewalk during rush hour. That said, we’ll take a gawking tourist any day over some of the certifiably crazy behaviors exhibited by city dwellers! And mostly we just complain about stuff like real estate, the subway/busses being lousy, and how city services should be better.
In fact it felt “blah” during Covid with no tourists. So come visit NYC! We don’t care about the tourists — we are too busy working to afford out insane rent and being annoyed by lots of other things
