Never had that many exciting men around me. None were exciting until my mid 40s which is now.

We dated throughout college but ended it when our paths post graduation were going to be very different. Circumstances led us to meet again about seven years later and we were both not in relationships and my expectation was high but there was no sizzle. We had really grown differently and there was no going back.

College girlfriend, first serious relationship for both of us, called me five years after the breakup. We met up and spent an afternoon talking. She asked a lot of questions. How did you feel when we broke up? Why didn't we go the distance? Were you really in love? Went out a couple of times later, but it was a disaster. Personally, I would rather start fresh with a new person and write our own story, not edit what has already happened.

Fast forward 25 years and we ran into each other at the mall one day. I was divorced and she was widowed, also losing her daughter. We had coffee that day and talked for 2 hours. Met the next week for coffee and then almost daily thereafter as our friendship renewed.
About 6-8 months later we had a real date and became exclusive. Today we live together and are deeply in love.

Not a former boyfriend, but the one who got away. We both would have wanted something with each other but there was always someone else in the picture.
Recently reconnected after twenty years and it felt very intense. Hasn’t gone anywhere definite yet due to circumstances but we are both single, so I think we have an opening now.
Don’t see any harm in meeting, you’ll know soon enough how you both feel.
