I agree. I took my kids there a few days ago and it was great. In addition to the playground, there are some really nice trails and a nature center that the kids really liked. I didn't see any upkeep issues at all.

Back in the day - like 15 years ago an Srlington mom had a blog “scary mommy” or something and she would post regularly about playgrounds & parks & fun stuff along the 495.

The playground at Douglass Community Center in Leesburg. Good to pair with a Sky Meadows/Sweet Run State Park visit or a winery/brewery visit out in Western Loudoun.

+1 on both points. I always feel frustrated at Clemyjontri by how much you have to keep moving around. It's also hard to go with multiple kids because if they want to do different things it's hard to watch them both the because everything is so spread out.

Not sure it’s quite a destination in itself, but my kids ages 4-8 love Chet Hobert Park playground in Berryville. They could spend hours there. We stop to play after apple picking every year.

I’d say Great Country Farms also falls in this category. It costs money to enter, and it does have more than just playgrounds, but all the different structures (and bouncy pillows) are the biggest hit with my kids. There’s a ninja low ropes course there now that is really fun for mixed ages.

There’s a lot of nice ones in Arlington. We did a tour of Arlington playgrounds one winter break. I don’t remember all of the names, but remember there were several really good ones.

There’s a ninja warrior playground near Quantico. It’s a haul to get there, but my kids loved it.

That’s too bad. There’s also a little train, petting zoo and mini golf there.

Wheaton Regional. Cool slides, fun sand dig part, carousel; train, lots of paths. It’s also near Brookside gardens and Brookside Nature center so you could walk around that one as well. Bonus that there’s tons of great authentic ethnic restaurants nearby.
