NP. The whole reason Apple began notifying users that an unknown AirTag was traveling with them was because these things were happening. Don’t be so naive.
But the vast majority of air tags are NOT being used in malicious ways. They ping off nearby cell phones, so it's not a PERSONAL attack on you if you get a ping. It's good to be aware for general safety, but it's highly unlikely you have a stalker.

A notification doesn’t mean that the person who owns the airtag can’t see your location. Which part are you confused about?
Because as soon as I get the notification I'm going to find the air tag and throw it in the trash, how is that not obvious?
