I’m pretty sure there are many “nationals” in dance. There isn’t one overarching organization, lots of companies hold qualifying events for their own final competition. My neighbor’s kid did the competition circuit and would get giant trophies all the time but didn’t even make the dance team when she went off to college.

Bc making to a team is often about your height being near existing team members height, not about skills.

I just watched the first 2 episodes of this show and what a train wreck. I guess the moms really are stereotypical Ashburn moms.

Really? Just went to the website and looks like they still have classes going. They have a complete fall schedule for 2024-2025 and classes start this week.

Tammy (Audrey’s Mom) used to be my daughter’s dance teacher for a tiny tots tumbling class at Studio Bleu about 7 years ago. She was an absolute sweetheart and the kids just loved her. It’s horrible to see this side of her on the show. Her daughter was known as an excellent dancer even back then.

Ah, so really following in the footsteps of the original Dance Moms where the teacher went bankrupt (and was sent to jail for concealing funds).

Wow, these are awful people. In the original, only the moms were awful. In this one, some of these kids are (Ashlan seems super spoiled and Audrey is just plain mean). And these kids seem to be much worse dancers than the original. Surely there are better dance studios that should have been the focus of this show.

My teenagers got us to watch a few episodes and my husband feels way better about his parenting/coaching now! Compared to that dance teacher he's a saint!

These women are so horrible to each other and in front of the kids! I'm kind of shocked. I expected better behavior after all the dysfunction of the original series. Is the dance world really like this?

Also surprised there's not more talk here since they are local.

The fact that this Roxce woman calls a physical altercation "one of my best moments" tells me all I need to know about her. Trashy.

I watched the first episode. Never seen the original. I mean you have to be kind of drama queen to sign up to do this kind of thing. The one mom (with the Broadway kid) is just so terribly insufferable. I thought it was just about trashy moms but they also make some of the kids look like spoiled brats. And then there is the stereotypical Tiger Asian mom. And some Ashburn mom stereotypes galore. I read an article after I watched the episode and some of the moms had “full-time/part-time dance mom” listed as a job. It’s a train wreck and a half.

I was literally JUST going to post about this.

One of the children's name is BELLATRIX, which is...a choice.
