I would look for a 'popover' style blouse, they fit loosely and will be easy to find with some length.

Set up an appointment for her at mm La Fleur or Nordstrom. Tell them she needs a work wardrobe and budget is $x. Problem solved

Buy nothing. Wear a simple black dress the first day of work and get a look at what everyone is wearing. We made the mistake of buying clothes we thought were business casual appropriate and found out jeans were their business casual and returned a lot of stuff.

The current style for young women of drapey loose work pants is really sloppy and unflattering, especially when most of the young women wearing this style are on budgets and therefore buying cheap polyester fabrics.
Aritzia naming this style "the effortless" is crying out for a pun..... because when the young women show up at conferences and client meetings in this style, and it is sloppy draping around their shoes.... it really looks like they put zero effort into this outfit.

I just bought some tops from Kule at the recommendation of someone on this forum. They have plain and stripes, long and short sleeved. They are thick and not cropped although about an inch shorter than I like. I used to buy these shirts at Eddie Bauer but even those shirts are thin and cheaper now.

I’m a jeans and t shirt person who just wants to be covered and appropriate at work. I feel her pain.
It’s honestly difficult to pull off an outfit that is just pants and a top. Tucking is hard/complicated. If she likes and can find button downs that work for her, that’s a good option.
Otherwise imo the easiest/most comfortable thing is sweater knit crew or vneck shells or t shirts, with a cardigan or a soft jacket. Jcrew, Talbot’s, ann taylor, department stores are all good bets. I like nic and Zoe for cheap soft jackets, and they have a lot of sizes.
You can do the shell/sweater jacket combo over trousers or pull on pants and you don’t have to worry about tucking or anything being cropped.
