My rising 7th grade DD asked for one last Christmas. I had to track one down through Dick's Sporting Goods. That's when I realized it was a fad.

I bought myself one a couple of months ago. I thought back to when I had my babies and the hospital gave me a big plastic cup with a handle and a straw; I was so hydrated! I have a condition called POTS so I have to hydrate a lot.

I still have other water bottles for leaving the house. The Owala free sip 18 ounce is my standard, or a small aluminum 8 oz bottle if I just want to make a quick trip into a store and am worried I'll have sudden thirst.

The 30 ounce Stanley really is saving me time. Most of my electrolyte mixes are supposed to use 16 oz of water. So I am just doubling the packets and cutting down my refills by half. Yay.

Honestly the people who rant about people who like trends like Stanley, bogg bags, Birkenstock, Lululemon, seem very sad angry. They seem to think that disparaging others choice on inane topics somehow will make themselves feel better about their own choices.

Sorry but secure and happy people don’t spend the time to disparage others water bottle choices. They just don’t.

There is nothing to understand. Some people like them, some people don't. I've never even held one in my hand so I have no opinion either way.

Stanley cups and huge SUVs are soccer moms go tos. It’s part of the uniform along with yoga pants or leggings.

The flip top lid ones are pretty leakproof - not perfect but pretty good - and keep drinks cool all day. Price is in line with other metal water bottles like Yeti and HydroFlask. I don’t see the big fuss about them either way, I have a Stanley, it works well, I use it a lot, I just have the one so I’m not collecting a huge shelf of all the different colors, that’s about it.
