The teams (it would never happen) in trouble would be Michigan st and Purdue ( two teams in the state), Illinois ( they would keep northwestern right in Chicago). The ACC teams all have issues. That’s why they took the most valuable school UMD. No other school would have imploded the ACC so badly.

They should go back to their original 1766 name: Queen’s College.

Oddly enough they do. BC is the only p4 school in New England. If ACC implodes look for BC to be included in the B10 with whatever other teams are added. Add Boston and New England TV markets.

Ohio State and Michigan can make much more money teaming up with Georgia and Florida State to sell their TV rights and not splitting them with bottom feeders like Maryland leaves more money for the teams drawing the viewers
That can’t happen. And FS is more of a bottom feeder.

UMD really messed the conference up geographically splitting it in half, took the most valuable media market and initiated the slow motion train wreck. The Acc freaked out and signed a very weird media deal which reflects horribly on the instincts and intelligence of the administrations of that conference. If any are admitted to the B1G eventually I wonder if UMD will demand the penalty they took plus interest which would approach 80 million so far.
That is long gone and UMD does not have veto.
There is no way any ACC team gets into the B1G without paying UMD its money back with inflation. By the time it could possibly happen it’s going to be in the 100 million range.

The Big Ten Conference wants Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and UNC.
Notre Dame for sure. Not Texas A&M .. it’s not the flagship. UNC is a smaller school with fewer alumni and state politics won’t let them leave larger and more represented in the state assembly NC state behind in the bag of dicks ACC or Big 12.
