I wouldn't say many...more like some teams. The vast majority don't care about your residency which is why they are travel teams and not LL teams.

That said, I live in MD, and I've come to learn that MD and VA travel baseball can be very different
Residency requirements come into play when the travel team requires the players to also play for a local league with residency requirements.
