You could easily spend two days doing Henry Ford/Greenfield, get some buddy's pizza and catch a Tigers game
Cleveland is great, good museums, Rock Hall,
Pittsburgh also good

If sticking to places within a few hrs plane ride (which I would recommend since it’s just a long weekend so you don’t want to spend a lot of time traveling)

Actually, St. Louis and Pittsburgh we have really enjoyed. Never thought I would but there’s a lot to do and good food and more affordable accommodations and attractions than bigger cities/more popular tourist destinations.

City Museum - amazing
We enjoyed all the museums and zoo which are all free. Art Museum, zoo, science museum, etc…
Enjoyed the food except the St. Louis style pizza.

River Walk
Beaches along Lake Michigan. Can rent paddle boats.
Seven bridges park is a beautiful walk to the lake
Lots of good restaurants
