The obviously have more problems pp if they can’t decide on door stoppers. The husband sounds more like a control freak. Op should be able to share her thoughts about house repairs without him losing it and berating her.

They are both control freaks in the sense that they both want to control what the husband does.

God, you are a PITA! You run to an anonymous forum to (b)itch about your husband over effing door stops? You’re a nag. Own it.

Whenever my husband drags his feet on a project (and it’s something I can’t do), I have a handyman come out and do the work and pull the expense right out of our joint account.

Installing 2 door stoppers and replacing a toilet seat isn’t exactly a project.

I talked to my husband about doing both of these and he decided he’s not interested because he thinks they aren’t needed. It may be a cop out because he doesn’t want to help. I really don’t know. I spoke to him about it in a nice way. I didn’t get the tool box out and demand he does it ASAP. I ordered the stuff and he has had months to do it. I pointed out the wood floors turning black due to water damage and the damage on the wall due to the sprayer scraping against the wall several times.

I do think for now on I will hire help and charge it to the credit card. I think he will start doing the “projects” right away.

I wanted to get a water filter system out into the kitchen when we first moved in and that was a big thing. I can’t suggest stuff without him getting upset. He can’t have a normal conversation with me. It becomes heated right away just because I am sharing my thoughts. It’s not healthy.

Lately he’s been so lazy. He needs to take longggg naps every Saturday and Sunday. If I suggest anything to do he usually turns it down because he’s tired. He’s a kill joy for sure. He goes to the gym on Saturday and he’s tapped out after that. He wants to spend the entire weekend at home. During the week we can’t do any activity either. It tools forever to get my older child in sports because I work odd hours as a nurse and he didn’t want to bring him to soccer games for 2.5 months. Our kid was missing out and getting made fun of at school because he doesn’t know how to play sports at recess. He would ask to join a game and the boys would say no because you don’t know how to play. I have him signed up for soccer in the fall. Dh doesn’t value sports because who knows… is wasn’t his idea? We bought did a lot of sports growing up but his weren’t organized.
He’s an amazing swimmer even though he was never on the swim team or has swim lessons.
