In my experience, whenever I go through a period of irregular poops, my weight balloons. And I look terrible in the midsection. Unfortunately this happens most often when I'm dieting and it gives me a ton of stress.

No it is a heart arrythmia. I have to take rate and control medication which impacts metabolism. However if I gain weight, it impacts my arrythmia. Catch 22.

Well, I am not in an elected office in order to solve the world's problems, so I doubt much would change in Bangladesh, Gaza, Ukraine or really anywhere else. But I am active in several groups that mitigate hunger and the lack of health care in our regional area, as well as other groups that work to end gun violence and to elect a sane and humanitarian president, so there's that. Weight impacts my overall health. I have a significant cardiac problem that prevents me from doing all the above if I can't keep it in check. And while this cardiac problem has contributed to my weight gain, it behooves me to get in front of it so it doesn't impact my life in a much worse way. That is why I am really getting into the weeds with this problem.

Yes, I am using a food scale and My Fitness Pal.

Yes, I am measuring correctly. Haven't had restaurant food in about 6 months . Drink all day. ( Water not alcohol!)

My weight came off only after I started working out. I was on a 1300 calorie diet and wasn't losing much (maybe a 1/2 pound every other week or so). I started going to the gym 2-3 days per week. 1 hr cardio plus weights and boom! The weight fell off.

It's water from increased glucose stores in your muscles. Increase them even more for a week if you want to drastically increase your energy and mental clarity levels.

1200 calories is not anorexia or starvation. Far from it. And I'm not encouraging or pushing anything other than thermodynamics. Calories in, calories out.


It's not as simple as that for everyone.
