Yep. Just like my kid with an IEP for speech articulation even though he is a high achiever and doesn’t need any extra help in meeting the criteria

My son got a CES spot but we decided it wasn’t worth it and kept him at his home school where he is getting ELC and compacted math.

Why would they talk about a 4th/5th grade program at a 3rd grade BTSN? Back to School Night is for meeting the teacher and setting expectations for the year.
Funny thing, though: MCPS posted an entire page on their website about this “secretive” program. It even includes the timeline for this year’s selection process, which won’t begin until January.

Yeah, just realized that link has last year’s timeline—but it does say that this year’s won’t be announced until December. Pretty safe to assume it will be similar this year, starting in January.
