There are many fewer seats than there are students identified for the lottery. There are local CES programs that have a greater seat to student population ratio than the regional centers. There are adjustments to the lottery eiigibility criteria based on school FARMS rate and individual receipt of services (FARMS, EML, IEP & 504). For immersion programs, MAP-R is not always delivered in the language of instruction, but there is not adjustment for this in the criteria.
With the “adjustments” is that for any kid who has a 504 or just ones that would affect testing. My kid has a 504 for anxiety but is a stellar student. Will they inadvertently benefit since we got them a 504?

Why would they talk about a 4th/5th grade program at a 3rd grade BTSN? Back to School Night is for meeting the teacher and setting expectations for the year.
Funny thing, though: MCPS posted an entire page on their website about this “secretive” program. It even includes the timeline for this year’s selection process, which won’t begin until January.
