US has never sent a handball team to the Olympics. I have no idea what that is but may be worth looking into!

Fencing.
And not the stolen DC kind of fencing.

Uh, no. Our fencers train for years and compete on the regional and then national circuits starting as children. All of the fencers on our national team are seasoned international competitors. But feel free to pick up a weapon and taken an adult beginner class.

There are at least 3 junior sliding programs around Park City alone, plus whatever’s at Lake Placid. Unfortunately you’re underestimating how many other people have thought the same thing and signed their kids up so they won’t be like us 40 year olds spending this week googling “when too late for Olympics?” at 2 am.

My kid decided during the winter olympics that his goal was doubles luge. He would lie on the floor and practice jiggling. Shockingly he could not convince anyone to lie under him.

Are there any sports that are easy to pick up and excel in with dedicated training

Pickleball but only fat lazy Americans play so 🤞
