All the time. A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.

As long as I have the money to pay for my meal what's to stop me? I do remember once going to a Turkish restaurant and the maitre'd tried to seat me in the back by the bathrooms. I refused and told him I liked another table by the window. There was no "reserved'" sign in the table and I sat down. He was practically apoplectic.

What are you processing on here as if you are in a therapy session?

DP. I don’t take a book I enjoy the environment or my meal. I also don’t eat at the bar, unless I want to.

I once dressed in formal evening gown to attend an opera at the Met in New York. I splurged on a box seat all by myself. I had just had a broken engagement and this made me feel absolutely wonderful and I knew that I would be fine land on my feet!

Good for you PP!!! I celebrated the end of my divorce trial by having lunch solo where I ordered a huge rare steak which was so satisfying to cut up with that huge knife. lol
The waiter threw in complimentary champagne and desert that said congratulations. Great lunch!!!

Love to eat at restaurants by myself. I always sit at the bar but I’m a drinker so it works. Sometimes I read or else I’ll just people watch.

You can eat there without drinking.

And you get better service because the bartender is right in front of you. Usually.

If I'm eating by myself with a book, I don't need much attention. Plus, I'm not shy - I'll ask a busboy if they could get me another napkin or more water, or ask my waiter to bring my check, etc.

Many times. You are not ground breaking.

I do a lot of work travel so yes.

I prefer to get take-out and get all my clothes off and eat in bed back at the hotel, but if I am hungry enough or in a mood where I don't mind interacting, I'll go to the bar/restaurant to people-watch. I always have my work laptop out so I don't tend to get approached, only eyeballed.
