I met every woman I ever dated in public, including my now wife. Just walk up and apologize for interrupting, and tell them that you thought they were cute and had to shoot your shot. Then make normal conversation about what they / you are up to, and ask for the number / offer to take her out to drinks sometime soon. If you can handle that with confidence, you look decent, and come across as normal and put together you will have as many dates as you want.

This is the answer most of the time. Brunch is like 2 hours once a month or so. The rest of the time is engaging in solitary hobbies, unless they live a charmed life in NYC or some other fabulous world class city.
