Hi there - another vote for Balance as a Bethesda option. They are a fully equipped studio. And yes, private sessions are the ideal way to start if you can.
Pilates is so much more than just “mat pilates” and “reformer pilates.” In a private session your teacher will have you on different equipment (reformer, trapeze table, wunda chair, ladder barrel, the list goes on… and even some mat work), depending on what best suits your body that day.
Don’t get me wrong — a reformer class can be great and is a more accessible option for most. But private sessions with a solid teacher is the *chef’s kiss* and a great way to learn the foundations.
Ps Solidcore isn’t Pilates. It’s based on the Lagree method. It’s a really tough workout, but it’s not Pilates.
