Oh they also take “artsy” pics for insta, which for some reason seem to be deliberately blurry and odd

Mine are 14 and 16 now but at 10-12 - they play Roblox together, walk to the closest park or convenience store, make slime (sometimes), do their make up and hair together in some new way they learned about online. If it’s summer, drop them at the community pool. Ours is near a park so my 14 yo and a friend also go “tanning” on the grass which is basically laying out on a blanket, putting on scenty oil, playing music on their phone, and being annoying to classmates on Snapchat messages

Is the terminology now "doing a hang" instead of hanging out?

Clearly I am behind.

During a hang, the girls mostly just spend time on their phones.

If they're new friends, I can see why it may be hard for them to think up things to do. It stresses me out when my kids run out of ways to hang. I would limit these to 2 hours max, although I know that's not always an option. Sigh. Not really advice here, but sympathy. In my day, my friend and I would read her stash of Sassy magazines and then play Super Mario Brothers and make loaded hot chocolate. No magazines anymore....

When they left they walked to 7-11, walked to one friend's house and are likely watching the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders doc and perfecting their kick line and attempting jump splits currently while listening to "Thunderstruck." Great life.

Oh no. Sounds like they missed the point of the doc entirely.
