We went to this place last week. No reservations, long wait, tiny room & capacity, eat right out of the hot skillet, cash only. Soooo good and directly across the street from Mikes (but we walked to Modern). I probably wouldnt go with a group or w/people who don't want to wait an indeterminately long time for a table

I know the North End doesn’t take reservations, but maybe the other locations do?

Go to Cambridge for classics like Henrietta's Table. It is an old Cantabridgian haunt.

I prefer Modern Pastry to Mike's. It is worth it to go to the North End.

In Cambridge for seafood

It’s next to Mike’s Pastry’s .. get a canolli orca box to take back to the dorm. It’s less crowded than the original which is north end.

Also if you want a dive bar experience Charlie’s in Cambridge (if you know you know) $1 oysters.

I had one of the best meals of my life at Pagliuca’s in the North End.

Mike’s Pastry shop - famous cannolis and other Italian pastries - is just a block or two away for dessert.

Basically looking where college kids would want to go when someone else is paying.
