Well yes, but we aren't talking about "some" moms here. We are talking about a specific mom who was obviously asking about a time when she was home and not at work. On the other hand, speculating that she must have a husband at home, is weird. Because assuming someone is or isn't working at any given moment, unless they have told us, is weird.

Time-split.

Go outside in the morning. Older kids play in the sprinkler, and in any backyard shade. Baby plays in the shade, have misting spray bottles handy, shouldn't be too hot by 11am.

After noon, everyone is inside.

I have a 4 week old and was told by my pediatrician that outside was fine if under 90, just keep them in the shade. If over 90, short increments are fine (say taking the baby on a short walk) if they’re in the shade with a breeze and a stroller fan. Also before midday and after 7 are usually fine.

I had two summer babies in the south and was told before leaving the hospital very sternly both times by hospital nurses that outside time is before 9am and after 7pm. Of course that doesn’t work for toddlers who have bedtimes but they’re very serious about it down here.

I saw a family with a baby about six weeks old at the pool yesterday. They had the baby in one of those bath support seats on the side of the pool and the mother sat on the side. The older kids swam in the shallow pool. Seemed like a good solution for everyone!

Can you set up the sprinkler right outside your home and keep the baby indoors or in a shaded patio? Also, I would aim to do this really early (like 8 or 9 am) before the highest heat.

Older can do sprinkler while baby sleeps and you have monitor on or watch from inside. I would not take a 6 week old to the pool in this weather.
