We did ESF for cupcake camp. My kid enjoyed it, but I found it stressful and not worth the money (most expensive camp we enrolled in) and the drive. I wish there were bus service. Won’t be enrolling next year.

My middle schooler was less than thrilled at the prospect of sleepaway Girl Scout camp but came home LOVING it and wants to go again. She did one of the specialty camps which helped, I think. Best of all for me, it was super affordable.

My 9 year old daughter loves Landon Girls Camp. She’s done it for 3 years, multiple weeks.

My Middle Schooler has done two camps at the Takoma/Silver Spring location and enjoyed them both. The one this year was a business one and the one last year was a debate type one. I'm not sure about the coding classes, but for both of those camps, the instructors were great.

We tried both the Rockville and Germantown locations. "Teachers" were also basically HS students or volunteer parents and didn't really care to do anything. We tried fashion, drawing with food (I forgot the actual name), and interior design camp. They were really unstructured and just awful. Kids who had emotional dysregulation were in many of the classes and just out of control and leaders didn't know how to cope. We left all camps after 2 days (for week long camps). We kept giving them chance after chance and it just didn't work. Kids in interior design camp played iwth roblox all the time and the instructor had maybe 30 min of instructions and they were sitting in front of a computer for 5 hours. NOPE!

GDS is wonderful too! My rising pre-k student keeps begging to go back and loves the field trips. It seems super fun, and he is also learning how to better follow directions. Total win.

Wamava, a sleepaway camp in Linden affiliated with the Church of Christ, was terrific. Not as opulent as e.g. Ligonier, but well-run, relaxing, and much enjoyed. The kids all came back campaigning for the opportunity to do two weeks instead of one.

Summer Fun at Falls Church Community Center has been fantastic.

But I'm guessing y'all are too Richie Rich for that, LOL!

My kids have had good experiences at Montgomery College Rockville campus summer camps for multiple years. This year (11yo and 13yo) they felt like they had outgrown it and that the instructors weren't as good. One teacher of a financial literacy class was 5-10 minutes late several days in row which was less than convenient for working parents. The classes where they earn SSL hours were still good.

My DS9 did PPA soccer camp at gds and loved it.

Camp Louise for Jewish sleepaway camp for girls (boys go to nearby Camp Airy). Kid had fun, made a lot of friends, good communication about general camp stuff, no complaints about food. Pictures are sent daily and always looks fun. Pool, no lake, but a nearby lake where they take occasional trips.

My kid has some minor special needs, which they are well equipped to deal with. I do think that communication with me about the special needs issues during camp was not as responsive as I've had in other situations, but on location was handled well.

Not very religious, not kosher, they do Friday night/ Saturday morning Shabbat activities.

My kids each did a week at Good Counsel this year for the first time.

My son did their soccer camp and loved it. One day was very hot and they spent the afternoon inside. They seemed to have plenty of water and I was happy with how the heat was handled (my biggest concern ahead of time).

My daughter did ambitious artists and also really loved it. Came home with plenty of art projects and happy each day. They both want to go back.

Levine is always great! Pro tip from someone who has done both sessions in the past: my kid got bored in the second session because they repeated some content. Since then, we have only done one of the three-week sessions.
