Do two separate trips. One w with the in-laws, and separate one another time during the year.

It’s the only way I don’t resent the family trips.

I would save the money in a heartbeat!

I hope you are being facetious. Grandparents may not want to spend their time being your nanny.

Grandparents don’t live forever. Vacation at their beach house this year. Save up for other trips in the future.

And if you only have enough vacation time for one week a year, find new jobs. Seriously.

Second this summer or second ever? I’d probably go to the in laws and save the money for a later family trip. Maybe try alternating years to the in-laws and a summer family trip? But if it’s you second ever family trip, maybe start with that and go to the in-laws next year?

My mom’s parents lived on the beach a plane ride away from us. Our beach trips were always to their house, but we’d often take a family trip another week of the summer. As we got older and my Dad’s schedule got less flexible, my Mom would take us on our own to her parents. We’d then do our family vacation around his schedule.

You spend what you can afford. That's the vacation you have. You see the ILs another time. If you have to ask, you know the answer.

cA you do a combination trip. For example, if you are flying to Tampa to stay with them, do that for 4 days or even 5. Then drive to Daytona for 4.

Stay with them. You may get a greater break since they can watch the kids.
