Depends on the kind of tea but yes they do have an earthy taste because it is steeped in plants.

Beets also taste like dirt and I love them.

Yes. Beets are so good! But some find them dirt tasting. Ive never had that experience.

I can taste earthiness in beets but it's still delicious

Tea is amazing, the weirdos are the ones who put sugar in it and if all you've had is sweet tea I can understand the hatred. Same goes for coffee that people ruin with sugar and cream to make it bad and almost every beer is gross, come on people admit you have the same objective taste as me but you're all faking it!!

I personally will never understand the appeal of blue cheese!

What? I drink tea everyday! You must be brewing it wrong.

I like tea and I dislike coffee. I don't go around saying "ugh, why do you pretend to like coffee?"

I am not a tea snob - plain Lipton can really hit the spot sometimes - but nearly all tea you get in coffee shops is bad. The water is too hot, which affects the taste, and people let it steep too long so it gets bitter.

We learn to like things,

Coffee yuck
Vodka … nobody loves the taste you just learn to like it.

I love tea — tastes like tannins which I find delicious. Coffee is extra disappointing because it smells so good and then tastes like dirt to me. Different people have different tastes.

I love tea. No sugar or milk. Earl grey, lady grey, english breakfast, oolong, Black with blackcurrant, hojicha (green smoked tea). But i also don't like coffee or most sweets. And i find vinegar sweet. So my tastebuds enjoy earthy tastes. My 8 hear old already likes plain black iced tea. And im not asian.

It's a vast conspiracy. Too bad you won't go along with it. Now, Big Tea is going to track you down.

Do you think people pretend to like tea so they can act British or something? Just... what?

You need good tea. I had the most amazing oolong from Taiwan the other day. It literally tastes like tea with cream, but no cream.

Most of the store stuff is lower quality garbage. It's like drinking Folgers only and saying why do people pretend to like coffee?
